End of Summer, First Day of School

This past weekend was tax-free weekend in Texas. The girls and I went shopping for a few things at the Premium Outlet mall. Everyone else in Houston had the same idea because there was so many people everywhere we went. We got fed up with the crowds and decided to go play blacklight mini golf instead.
The girls wanted to make the best out of their last summer vacation weekend. On Sunday, we went to Claire's to get the kids ears pierced again. Denise chickened out and said that they would make her take off her earrings when she played soccer, but Brianna got hers done. We were going to go swimming at the YMCA but since Brianna couldn't get her ears wet with chlorinated water they opted for the Slip N Slide instead. They had more fun on the slide than they would've at the Y pool. It was so hot, Dennis even joined them for a while.

We closed Sunday with mass at 6:00 pm and a salmon dinner at home. Brianna even convinced me to use the nice crystal stemware to toast the new school year. The next morning they were up early to get ready for their first day at school. They had already met their teachers on Friday afternoon so they knew who was in their class and were happy with their assigned teachers. Let's just hope this lasts the rest of the year!
